Ansel Adams

Bridalveil Fall
Ansel Adams is a very famous american landscape photographer who's work displays the truth of the natural world. His work and ideas have had a major impact on photography today, from inspiring new artists to redefining how we look at film photography. In this particular image he uses the contrast between light and dark to create a mysterious atmosphere. I like how he uses the slow shutter speed to blur the water and make it fit in with the mist while using the framing of the photo to capture trees in the foreground adding layers to the image. The framing also helps to maintain balance across the image by including trees on both sides.
